Ohio High School State Powerlifting Competition 2001

Divisions I, II, III. Competition was held in Kenton, Ohio at Kenton High School.

Cambridge High School placed Third with only 12 lifters participating in the competition. Their total was 12,900 plus pounds. Last year, CHS did not place near the top. With Head Football Coach Rick Goodrich and his staff of other fine coaches, Cambridge High School is working to build a football powerhouse. Coach Goodrich's squad of dedicated lifters have proven themselves to be a force to be reckoned with.

Thomas Golden - Placed 1st. I was the only lifter to dominate all three events. I outlifted my closest competitor by nearly 400 lbs. I Bench Pressed 430 lbs., Squatted 585lbs., and Deadlifted 560 lbs. I broke State Records in Bench, Squat, and Total Lift (1570 lbs.).

Joel East - Placed 2nd. Lost only on body weight by 1/2 lb. Pictured below squatting.
