I have been powerlifting regularly since I was 13 years old. Weightlifting is an important part of all sports when done properly. I stress properly! Improper lifting can cause injuries. I say this because I saw one lifter who said he could Squat 600 lbs. and when I watched him do the lift, he did not bend at the knees. This is an improper lift. You will injure yourself. In fact, this particular lifter could barely get 300 lbs. when he did it properly. I suggest that you start with the lighter weight and do the lift properly. This technique will make you build faster. Another important point is that there is no quick method to building muscle. Hard work and dedication will the get you the correct results. Of course, you also need to follow a proper diet which means giving up the pop, chips, and other types of junk food. Good Luck!
